Representatives - Tompkins Park Touch Sharks
As an affiliate of Touch Football Australia and Touch Football WA, Tompkins Park Touch Association is eligible to enter representative teams into the touch football State Championships, Super League Series, and Junior State Championships. These annual events bring together members from all over Western Australia to provide the highest level of competition to affiliates, coaches, referees and participants. The events showcase the very best of touch football that WA has to offer and play a role in growing and developing the sport of touch football.
The Tompkins Park Touch Association representative teams are known as the Sharks, and each year we enter a range of teams into the representative events, with the biggest event being the State Championships, for which we enter Men's Open, Women's Open, Mixed Open and Men's Over 30's teams. We plan to enter teams into more divisions at the next State Championships.
Despite being a small club, we have had great success at the State Championships over the years, and in particular our Mixed Open team, who have won their division at the State Championships in 2013-2014 and 2017-2023. For only the second time in our club's history, we had three of our four teams in the Grand Finals at the 2021 State Championships which was a fantastic effort. Our Women's Open and Mixed Open teams won, our Men's Over 30's were defeated, and our Men's Open were close contenders and did a great job to reach the semi finals. In 2023 we reached another milestone by having representative teams in the Men's Open, Women's Open, Mixed Open, Men's Over 30's and Women's Over 30's division, another great achievement for our club!
Players participating in our social summer competition and meeting the conditions of entry into the events as determined by Touch Football WA, are eligible to trial for selection in one of the Sharks teams.
Trials and training for the first representative event (Super League Series) will start in September. We welcome everyone to trial for our representative teams, regardless of whether or not they have played at a representative level before.
