Juniors
The Junior Program is designed to introduce children aged 6 to 12 to the game of Touch Football (or Touch for short!) in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions focus on learning the fundamentals - passing and catching, running and evasion, attacking and defending, teamwork and developing confidence and communication - all while giving the child plenty of opportunities to play and with an emphasis on learning, participation and enjoyment! Each session is 60 minutes, with the 30 minutes of skills followed by 30 minutes of games.
For those junior players aged 12 to 17 years (born 2009-2013) you can enter a team in our Tuesday night social competition or register as an individual looking for a team to play in, and we will do our best to place you in an existing team or form a new team for you. Day: Tuesdays from 5.00pm-6.00pm
Where: Tompkins Park, Alfred Cove
When: Commences Tuesday 13th October 2026
and finishes Tuesday 1st December 2026 (8 weeks)
Fees: $140 - For returning players, please note that the increase in fees this year is due to the increase in compulsory affiliation fees and council fees, and because we listened to feedback from last season about merchandise being included so the Tompkins Park playing Tee will now be included and yours to keep! The playing tee will double up as the uniform for players participating in the Junior State Championships (JSC) tournament (more info below if you're interested in playing JSC!). Last season's players will also note that we have a new design for our playing tees this season. Unfortunately we are no longer permitted to wear our uniforms from last year at JSC due to it now being compulsory for teams in state tournaments to display the Touch Football Australia and Touch Football WA logos on our uniforms. So we thought we would update our tee design at the same time as we added the new logos!
JUNIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Junior players who participate in our Junior Program or in a team in our Social Competition are eligible to represent Tompkins Park Touch at the annual Touch Football WA Junior State Touch Football Championships tournament, which will be held from 27 to 29 November 2026 at UWA Sports Park, McGilivray Avenue, Mt Claremont.
For players who have never played touch or participated in the Junior State Champs, don't be fooled into thinking this tournament is only for experienced or elite players. The Junior State Champs is a weekend tournament where clubs from all over Perth come together to play against each other. For our players in the Juniors Program, the tournament is a great way to finish off a term of learning the basics of touch by putting their skills into practice.
It's hard to explain just how special the weekend is - the players get the opportunity to be part of a team and represent their club, play lots of touch, make new friends and experience the atmosphere. Whilst some players will be keen to win, others will be playing their first representative tournament. For everyone, it's an opportunity to wear the Tompkins Park uniform, be part of a team and have an unforgettable weekend! If you're not sure, just ask our players/coaches/parents who were part of the Junior State Championships last year!

Cost: The fee to participate is separate to the Junior Program or Social Competition and varies depending on which age group the player is in. Fees per player will be communicated as soon as costs become available around October.
Ages groups:
Under 12's (2014/2015), Under 14's (2012/2013), Open's (2009/2010/2011) - Play Friday/Saturday/Sunday
Under 10's (2016/2017) - Play Saturday/Sunday
Under 8's (2018/2019/2020) - Play Saturday only

KIDSPORT
We are an approved KidSport Club, so if your child is between 5 and 18 years and named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, they may be eligible to receive up to $200 per calendar year towards club fees.
